As an interface to the user, the presentation layer contains software components (the SAP GUI) by means of which the user is presented with the application. During its runtime, an SAP GUI component is always permanently linked to a user logon to the NetWeaver AS ABAP.
To ensure audit-proof traceability, you should only allow software components and namespaces to be changed on a production system in exceptional cases and for a limited period of time. This should only be done restrictively to prevent manipulation at the production level.
PROLOGUE
Another major topic is the migration of SAP systems, both locally from one data center to another and from one operating system to another or from one database type to another. As a rule, the SWPM tool is used here again.

This transaction provides you with many other database management features, an editor that allows you to easily execute your SQL queries against your SAP system. STOR and SMSS must be cultivated in the S_ADMI_FCD permission object. SQL queries must maintain the database connection. To get the current status of a database connection, see the DBCONT table. Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".
Here there are various services offered today by the SAP basis, which are more closely related to application, such as control of background processing, transport or also the automation of certain activities.
The monitoring of SAP systems, for example, is handled by modern AIOPs software, which permanently performs essential checks thanks to regular checks.
