The CodeProfiler prevents poor-quality code or programs with security vulnerabilities from entering a productive SAP system landscape in the first place. It is therefore important to use the CodeProfiler throughout the entire lifecycle of a software. Already during programming, the CodeProfiler helps the developer to identify and correct errors and vulnerabilities in the SAP landscape. The CodeProfiler automatically ensures that only "clean" code is transported to the next level (development system -> test system -> quality assurance system -> production system). The CodeProfiler can also be used for regular review cycles.
The application layer is the core of an R/3 SAP Basis system. This layer communicates in both directions, to the presentation layer and to the database layer. The application programs on the application servers request the required data from the database layer, process it, prepare it for the user and pass it on to the presentation layer. Data that the user enters in the SAP GUI is passed on to the database via the application servers.

The advantage here is that no additional infrastructure is required; instead, the existing SAP system landscape is used for the entire control and execution without incurring a loss in performance. This also ensures full audit and operational security (compliance). Since pure SAP systems are rather the exception, non-SAP systems can also be controlled and monitored. As a third option, high-end solutions are available that additionally monitor the infrastructure and legacy. Widely used products in this segment are UC4 and Arvato Streamworks. These three solution options differ significantly in terms of price and scope of services. IT departments in companies must therefore evaluate which solution is best suited to their own requirements.
If table logging is active in your system, you can specify which tables are to be logged in transaction SE13. For an active logging it is necessary to set the flag "Log data changes".

For example, administrators define requirements and standards, select and control upgrades or extensions, implement monitoring processes, and take care of necessary backups and emergency management.
