Installation
This is the heart of the SAP system. In the classic three-tier model, this would be the logic or control layer. One or more application servers host the necessary services for the various applications on this layer. These application servers provide all the services required by the SAP applications. In theory, a single server could fill this role. In practice, these services are in most cases distributed among several servers, each serving different applications.
The presentation layer is the interface to the users. Through a graphical interface, users enter data or interact with data through the applications. This presentation layer exchanges data with the application layer.
SAP Basis is characterized by a three-layer model and consists of the following layers:
Whenever you find a red traffic light on the Roles tab in the user master in SU01 - or a yellow traffic light on the Users tab in PFCG, you can usually solve the problem with a simple user synchronization. The fact that such a user adjustment is necessary can have several reasons. Among others: after a role transport to / when assigning users to roles via PFCG after restricting the validity of roles to users when roles are assigned indirectly via organizational management. Users usually notice the problem of a user comparison that has not been carried out quite quickly: Authorizations are missing, although at first glance they are available in the assigned authorization roles. This is because a user is assigned the correct authorization role - but the profile associated with the role is not up to date.
To display custom tiles based on catalogues and groups when the launchpad starts, permissions are placed in the menu of the underlying role. This makes it possible to ensure that every user on the launchpad can only see and open their applications. Open Launchpad permissions SAP provides default roles for opening the Fiori Launchpad. This distinguishes between the Fiori permissions to start the launchpad normally and to manage the user interface.
