Optimization of the SAP infrastructure
Critical business processes require a secure, efficient and stable operation of an SAP system landscape. High demands on the management as well as the operation of the underlying SAP NetWeaver platform require competent support in all tasks of planning, support and updating of the SAP Basis. The increase in installed components as well as systems integrated via interfaces expands these needs. Only with professional care and maintenance of its components can SAP NetWeaver bring its advantages as an integrative platform to bear.
Following the recommendation of dividing the SAP basis into an application-orientated and infrastructure-related SAP basis [A4], Figure 3 shows a possible presentation form. The SAP-Basis interface function is structured into a SAP basis, which is close to the application and is responsible for coordination and communication with vertical and higher IT specialist and business areas, and a SAP basis close to the infrastructure. The infrastructure-related SAP basis in turn serves as the link between the application-orientated SAP basis and the infrastructure levels. Subject Matter Experts will perform the link task again. In the application-orientated SAP basis, in turn, technology architects are more likely to be placed. The innovation activity or innovation team aspect of the SAP basis is placed at the level of the SAP basis, which is close to the application, because the existing capabilities allow it to assume a leading, also coordinating role and acquire expertise both by adding the SAP basis near the infrastructure and the downstream IT departments. In order for the stored business logic of an application to be executed correctly, the executing user must also have the necessary permission objects in the flow logic of the OData services in his role. If Authority Checks are performed here, e.g. to query or change data on the backend server, the corresponding role must be authorised. These permissions are expressed in a role by permission objects, as in any ABAP report. If you follow these steps, your Launchpad users should have the Fiori permissions necessary to launch the launchpad, view all relevant tiles, and run the specific apps with their business logic.
SAP Basis administration is distinct from other roles such as ABAP developers and consultants who handle architecture. In many companies, the boundaries between administration and development are blurred. Admins may therefore also be involved in the planning and development of the system.
"Shortcut for SAP Systems" makes many tasks in the area of the SAP basis much easier.
The prerequisite for employment is a relevant university degree (bachelor's degree, FH diploma) preferably in computer science, business informatics, mathematics or a scientific discipline as well as at least three years of practical experience.
