The programmer of a functionality determines where, how or whether authorizations should be checked at all. In the program, the appropriate syntax is used to determine whether the user has sufficient authorization for a particular activity by comparing the field values specified in the program for the authorization object with the values contained in the authorizations of the user master record.
In general, you should note that not all relevant change documents of a system are present in the user and permission management. As a rule, authorisation administration takes place in the development system; Therefore, the relevant proof of amendment of the authorisation management is produced in the development systems. By contrast, you will find the relevant user administration change documents in the production systems; Therefore, you should note that when importing roles and profiles in the production systems, no change documents are written. Only transport logs are generated that indicate that changes have been made to the objects. For this reason, the supporting documents of the development systems' authorisation management are relevant for revision and should be secured accordingly.
Customising User and Permissions Management
As in other systems, user maintenance and role/profile assignment must be restricted to the group of user administrators. In contrast to the previous systems, however, roles and profiles are maintained here, so that appropriate rights must be assigned to the role/profile administrators.
To create a authorization object, you must first select the result area and the form of the result invoice, whether calculating or accounting, for which you want to validate the authorization object. To do this, you must enter the name of the authorization object to be created and click the button (Next). You then set a text for the authorization object and select a maximum of ten permission fields for the object using the Fields button. Only a selection of the characteristics defined for the result area - and for the calculation of the result account also the value fields - is possible. You can now create different authorization objects for the key numbers and characteristics, or you can group the relevant fields into a authorization object. We advise you to define only one object with all relevant fields, as this will facilitate the maintenance of permissions. In our example, we created an accounting authorization object for the characteristics of the profit centre, distribution channel and work in the information system.
Assigning a role for a limited period of time is done in seconds with "Shortcut for SAP systems" and allows you to quickly continue your go-live.
You should therefore enforce cryptographic authentication and communication encryption by setting up Secure Network Communication (SNC).
We recommend that you install the support package that is appropriate for your release, which is specified in the SAP Note, because inserting the hint requires a lot of manual work.
