Query Data from a Local Table
Translating texts into permission roles
If you do not maintain the values or set them to a value other than YES, the role menus of the reference user will not be taken into account when setting up the user menu. The two switches are system-wide; It is therefore not possible to define a specific shape for the client. If you set both switches to YES, you will not be able to tell from the user menu entries whether they are from the reference user's or user's role menus. Reference users have another benefit: You can also use it to inherit the contractual user type. A user inherits the classification of the reference user if they do not have any other role or profile mappings with classification, or if they have not been classified manually.

For these scenarios, there are several ways to determine which systems and clients to display to the user in the self-service selection. We therefore describe a possibility that you can use in all scenarios. To do this, use the BAPI BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL, which you must call for the SAP User ID on all relevant systems. Check the entry for the RETURN table parameter first. If the entry is empty, the user is present in the SAPS system. Any error messages during the call are displayed in this parameter (e.g. if the user is not present). If the PROFILES or ACTIVITYGROUPS table parameters have entries, permissions in this system are assigned to the user. In addition, you can use the REF_USER export parameter to identify a reference user that is associated with it. However, you must also check that it has permissions. You can also determine if a lock exists when you call the BAPI BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL. To do this, use the ISLOCKED export parameter, which returns a four-character combination of the L (locked) and U (not locked) characters.

SOS reports can be very comprehensive. In particular, if the Whitelists are not yet maintained, reporting volumes of up to 200 pages are not uncommon. Do not be discouraged in such a case, but start by cleaning up a manageable amount of critical SOS results. You can then edit the further results in several rounds. The AGS recommends which critical SOS results you should consider first; You can find these in the AGS Security Services Master slide set in the SAP Service Marketplace Media Library.

Last but not least, a well-managed suggestion value maintenance helps you with upgrade work on suggestion values and PFCG roles. This ensures that your changes and connections to the respective PFCG roles are retained and new permissions checks for the new release are added to the applications.

"Shortcut for SAP systems" is a tool that enables the assignment of authorizations even if the IdM system fails.

An alternative to using the S_TABU_LIN authorization object is to create custom table views that make organisational delimitation easier to achieve.

Normal customizing by user departments generally refers to client-specific tables.
