SAP S/4HANA® Launch Pack for Authorizations
Grant permission for external services from SAP CRM
Service users are used for multi-person anonymous access, such as Web services. This type of user is also dialogical, i.e. it can log on to the SAP system via SAP GUI. With a service user, multiple logins are always possible, and password modification rules do not work. This behaviour has changed with the introduction of security policy. Because previously all password rules for the service user were invalid, and now the rules for the contents of the passwords also apply to the service user (see Tip 5, "Defining User Security Policy" for details on security policy). The password of a service user always has the status Productive and can only be changed by the user administrator.

The SAP HANA Studio application is available for maintaining and assigning HANA permissions to users. The SAP HANA Studio is installed on your workstation. You can then log in to one or more HANA databases with the user and password. The SAP HANA Studio and HANADatenbank are currently subject to extensive further developments; Therefore, the respective versions of the SAP HANA studio must be compatible with the HANA databases to be connected. For this reason, we recommend that you check the information about the use of certain versions of SAP HANA Studio in the SAP Notes.
Best Practices Benefit from PFCG Roles Naming Conventions
In the PRGN_CUST table, set the customising switch REF_USER_CHECK to E. This prevents you from using other types of users than reference users. This switch only affects new mappings; You should manually clean up any existing mappings of other user types.

The selection mask for selecting change documents in the transaction SCUH is divided into four sections: Standard selection (similar to other SUIM reports), output, selection criteria, and distribution parameters. In the default selection you have the option to specify for which model view, for which modifier (Modified by) and for which time period you want to view change documents.

If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.

In addition, you can use the System Recommendations application in the SAP Solution Manager to get a detailed, cross-system overview of the security advice you need.

We also recommend that you perform the security patch process as part of a release or support package upgrade to avoid additional testing by security advisories already released at the time of the upgrade.
