Solution approaches for efficient authorizations
Set up login locks securely
Despite progressive use of web interfaces in the S/4HANA context, batch processing for mass data is still required. However, our experience from customer projects shows that only very few authorization administrators know how to correctly authorize the scenarios. SAP OSS Note 101146 provides a good overview here. In this blog post, we would like to summarize the context for practical use.

As the rolls pass, the value ranges for the field in question are searched within a role. Automatic cleanup occurs by writing both value ranges together in all fields. Therefore, you should clean up these entries before you start and create two different roles if necessary. The PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE report provides a test run that allows you to identify all the affected roles. The Status column provides an overview of the status of the permission values. If the status is yellow, there are different value ranges for the field within the role; the role must therefore be adjusted.

SAP customers do not maintain suggested values in this transaction. However, there are cases where data in the SU22 transaction is maintained in a customer environment. If TADIR services or external services are developed by the customer or partner, these services are not available by default in the SU22 transaction or the SU24 transaction. For these services, the header data must first be written to the USOBHASH table, which serves as the basis for maintaining the services. These entries in the USOBHASH table are generated automatically when running TADIR services. Read Tip 41, "Add external services from SAP CRM to the proposal values", for dealing with external services. Once the data in this table is available, you have the option to maintain the proposed values.

You are using the SAP_ALL profile for interface users, and after upgrading to a new Support Package, do you get permission errors? While we cannot recommend using the SAP_ALL profile, we describe how you can resolve this problem in the short term. In newer SAP NetWeaver releases, the SAP_ALL profile no longer contains permissions for the S_RFCACL authorization object. This can lead to permission errors, such as for interface users who have the SAP_ALL profile assigned to them. Please note that we can only recommend using the SAP_ALL profile for absolute emergency users. Therefore, instead of applying this tip, you should preferably clear the permissions of your interface users. To learn how to do this, see Tip 27, "Define S_RFC permissions using usage data." However, such a cleanup of the privileges of your interface users cannot happen overnight. Therefore, we will explain how to resolve the issue in the short term.

If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.

Examples include the SYS and _SYS_REPO users, which allow administrative tasks such as creating a new database object or assigning privileges.

Call the transaction SOBJ.
