Transactional and Native or Analytical Tiles in the FIORI Environment
Set password parameters and valid password characters
This solution is only available via a support package starting with SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 731 and requires a kernel patch. For details on the relevant support packages, see SAP Note 1891583. In principle, user login to the application server can then be restricted by setting the new login/server_logon_restriction profile parameter.

It should be noted, however, that the system writes all authorization errors of the user into the memory area of SU53. I.e. if there is a so-called double hit, i.e. several authorization errors occur, only the last error is always in this area. I prefer to have the user run the transaction until the error message "No authorization...", then use the menu to display the error, and send me a screen shot of the first page of output. This way I avoid that the user creates another authorization error when calling transaction SU53, which covers the original one. As a user administrator or role administrator, you can also call SU53 yourself and display the error entry of another user via the menu. However, this does not always work.
Basic administration
The Security Optimisation Service for ABAP contains more security checks than the corresponding section in the EWA. In particular, the number of eligibility checks is higher. A total of 110 eligibility tests are currently defined in the SOS, including 16 critical eligibility tests for HR. The full list of all security checks in the SOS can be found in the SAP Service Marketplace on the page https://service.sap.com/sos via Media Library (Security Optimisation Service > ABAP Checks).

Incorrect use of the user types and password rules can result in the shutdown of the RFC interfaces. Find out what types of users you can use and how the password rules affect these types of users. In the SAP system, you can choose between different user types when creating users. These user types control the login behaviour and also the impact of password rules on the user. This can lead to undesirable behaviour, especially if the parameter for the validity of the initial password is set. It is often not known that the password rules also apply to users of the communication type. Communication users usually use an initial password because a dialogue is not possible and the password is not changed. If parameters for the validity of the initial password are now also introduced, these also apply to communication users. We will show you how to prevent such problems and give you an overview of the types of users and the impact of the password rules.

If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.

How you can prevent access to the SAP menu and only show the user menu to the user, we described in Tip 47, "Customising User and Permissions Management".

Authorizations are assigned to users in SAP systems in the form of roles.
